  • The Super Bowl of AI???? According to?NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang, that’s exactly what?GTC?is - except here,?everybody?is a winner. So, what is?GTC? It stands for?GPU Technology Conference?- NVIDIA’s?flagship AI event, gathering researchers, engineers, startups, and industry leaders to explore the latest breakthroughs in AI, high-performance computing, robotics, and more. This week,?25,000 people flocked to San Jose?to get a glimpse of the future at?NVIDIA GTC, all under the headline:?What’s Next in AI? Our Senior Advisor Morten Larsen shared that as you step inside, you’re greeted by a humanoid. As you walk up the stairs, signs point you toward?hundreds of sessions?showcasing how NVIDIA technology is driving AI forward - across?science, self-driving cars, and robotics. Last year,?GTC was all about GenAI. This year? It was?agentic AI and physical AI. In other words, where AI doesn’t just generate words, but?takes action. ???"Imagine instead of your prompt producing text, it tells a robot to pick up a box,"?Huang said.?"That is a very sensible thing for the future of robotics." Highlighting Denmark’s efforts with our new supercomputer, Gefion,?Nadia Carlsten, PhD, CEO of the Danish Centre for AI Innovation (DCAI), took the stage to share how?Gefion has 15Xed Denmark’s supercomputing capacity, accelerating AI progress across the country. And while?the humanoid in the home?is still?at least 10 years away?(according to?Boston Dynamics CTO Aaron Saunders),?the ChatGPT moment of robotics has already arrived?- and it’s guaranteed that you’ll see more and more robots around you.

  • There’s so much happening within quantum technology currently, and we think it’s pretty great that Denmark plays an important role ?? Kasra Nowrouzi, Head of Hardware at Berkeley Lab’s Advanced Quantum Testbed, highlighted the Nordics’ unique strengths at the Bifrost Summit. Here, he pointed out the strong research legacy and a strategic and cooperative approach to quantum development. So, what does this mean? ?? More computing power, faster problem-solving, and entirely new possibilities for industries ranging from healthcare to finance. The Nordic approach - combining deep scientific expertise with strong public-private partnerships - makes the region a key player in the global quantum race. Daiana Fobian Nielsen Davis leads our quantum agenda, and we’re always interested in talking to researchers, investors, and industry players in the field.

  • Another successful Lab to Market session in the books! ?? Last week, students in the International Bioinnovation Program took a deep dive into the process of turning an idea into a fully developed concept. As part of the course, Ilana Lipsett led a session on the power of future thinking, challenging bioinnovators to explore how emerging trends shape innovation. A key focus of the workshop was working with “signals of change” - concrete, real-world developments that provide insight into how the future might unfold. By identifying these shifts, it’s possible to better anticipate challenges but also uncover exciting new opportunities to innovate ??

  • Ever heard about digital twins and humanoids? ?? Imagine having a digital version of yourself that thinks, moves, and learns just like you ?? Digital twins can simulate real-world scenarios, attend meetings on your behalf, and even exist in multiple places at once. And humanoids? These AI-powered robots are evolving fast, moving and interacting more like humans than ever before. Both digital twins and humanoids are opening up new possibilities in industries like healthcare, manufacturing, and even entertainment. A couple of weeks ago, our Executive Advisors Helene M. O. Kristiansen and Anders Christjansen attended Institute for the Future's Ten-Year Forecast at Swissnex in San Francisco and witnessed?Toshi Anders Hoo’s digital twin appear on screen, performing an AI-generated song - completely lipsynced. And of course, it wouldn’t be a true Silicon Valley moment without a few performers dressed as humanoids dancing along.

  • We’ve been keeping a secret… ???Together with Nordic colleagues across the U.S., we’ve been busy creating a new podcast called Nordic Visionaries. We’re ready to launch in just a few weeks, so together with podcast host Susan Lindner and our very own Daiana Fobian Nielsen Davis, we threw a pre-launch party last week at the Bifrost Summit ?? In the podcast, you can meet prominent and visionary leaders from across the Nordics and the U.S., sharing stories on how the Nordics shape global influence within leadership, innovation, and sustainability. We gave a sneak peek at the party, and it’s safe to say there’s lots of people excited to tune in on Nordic Visionaries. Nordic Visionaries is funded by Nordisk Ministerr?d and developed in collaboration with Denmark In New York, Consulate General of Finland in New York, Nordic Innovation House - Silicon Valley, Royal Norwegian Consulate General in New York and Consulate General of Sweden in New York.

  • What is everyday life like as a student on the International Bioinnovation Program? ?? In this video, Magnus Wennerberg Larsen brings you along on a day in his life as a Bioinnovator. Supported by Novo Nordisk Foundation, we give Danish STEM talents a chance to go abroad and work in a Silicon Valley biotech startup as part of their studies. As a Bioinnovator, you won’t only get to apply your skills and make a difference in a startup - you get to create a network in the biotech field, meet other passionate people and expand your skillset. And yes - applications are still open! We close on March 15 ??

  • This week, the annual Bifrost Summit is taking place in the Bay Area, bringing together bold ideas and insights on critical technologies to power tomorrow. On Tuesday, our Senior Advisor, Daiana Fobian Nielsen Davis, moderated a panel on quantum ?? In the panel business leaders, researchers, and venture capitalists from the Nordics and the U.S. shared their perspectives on where quantum technology stands today - and where it’s headed next. We can’t predict breakthroughs - but we know they’re coming. Quantum computing is a long game, and the key players are investing now to be ready when the technology matures” said Jonathan King, on the potential of quantum technology. Prior to that, Sam Stanwyck from NVIDIA took the stage for a keynote, highlighting “Quantum is an area that will only keep growing, and for us, it’s a key field to stay engaged in. We’re excited to keep working with leading experts across the Nordics and the U.S. to explore what’s next.” A big thank you to Nordic Innovation House - Silicon Valley for organizing and to everyone who joined for a great day at Bifrost Summit! A special thank you to Sam Stanwyck, Kasra Nowrouzi, Lars Jensen, and Jonathan King for joining the quantum panel.

  • ?? Human-centered AI experiences matter more than ever. But why? As AI accelerates, human-centered experiences are more crucial than ever. They help us anticipate, adapt, and shape the future - rather than simply reacting to it and letting technology shape our future. Last week, our executive advisors Helene M. O. Kristiansen and Anders Christjansen participated in Institute for the Future's Ten-Year Forecast at Swissnex in San Francisco - an immersive and thought-provoking journey into the future of Generative AI. Through interactive storytelling and research-backed scenarios, we explored a world where AI-powered bots blur the lines between human and machine, challenging our perceptions of trust, agency, and reality itself. So, what do the ten-year forecasts of GenAI actually look like? - Forecast 1: There will be more AI bots than humans. - Forecast 2: AI will be able to translate any idea between any language, discipline, or format. - Forecast 3: AI will transform our relationship with resources. - Forecast 4: In an AI-soaked world, there will be a premium on human interactions. A huge thanks to Institute for the Future and Swissnex in San Francisco for this eye-opening event. The future isn’t just coming - it’s already here, and we must be ready for it.
