Back in September, I shared the exciting news about receiving the 2024 Outstanding Service Award from the KANSAS EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATION (KEMA) for my work organizing the Integrated Emergency Management Course (IEMC) training in Emmitsburg, Maryland (National Disaster & Emergency Management University). Last night, I was honored to have Jillian Rodrigue, KEMA President, join us at the Belton City Council meeting to formally present the award. It was a privilege to celebrate this recognition surrounded by my current colleagues and leadership in Belton. This award reflects the incredible teamwork and collaboration during my time with Johnson County, KS, and I’m grateful for the continued support from peers across the state. Thank you, Jillian, and KEMA for this special moment!
CONGRATULATIONS to Belton Emergency Management Director Claire Canaan, KCEM. On Tuesday, Jillian Rodrigue, President of the Kansas Emergency Management Association, presented Claire with the 2024 Outstanding Service Award. This award is given to individuals who have made significant contributions to the emergency management field and accomplished more to keep residents and communities safe across Kansas. Before joining the City of Belton this past Fall, Claire served as assistant director of emergency management for Johnson County, Kansas. We are thrilled to have Claire working here to make our community safer!
