Targeted alpha particle therapy is a promising new radionuclide therapy to treat the diseased tissue at close proximity and improve the QoL of patients. Tohoku University and Hitachi collaborated to develop technologies for the mass production of Actinium-225.?With the support of the National Cancer Center, they jointly developed techniques to improve the therapeutic effects and reduce side effects. Research samples are now being provided to pharmaceutical companies and research institutes to accelerate cancer drug research and its practical application.?
