Enter Aidan Saylor, a biomedical engineering student from the University of Cincinnati, who has transformed his co-op experience into a game-changer for the Air Force. Working with @Solutions Through Innovative Technologies, Inc. (STI-TEC) and the USAF Airmen Accommodation Lab, Aidan tackled a long-standing issue with the anthropometer—a vital tool for measuring human body dimensions. With his expertise in Computer-Aided Design and rapid prototyping, he redesigned its unstable base, boosting its reliability and setting a new standard for military anthropometry tools. Aidan's innovation not only enhances the accuracy of measurements but also underscores the impact one student can have in a real-world setting. His work is poised to benefit the entire Department of Defense, ensuring safer, more dependable tools for those who serve. Last week, students in Prof. Heather Nester, M.Ed., MAHR's Class: PD1000: Exploring Health Professions, had the privilege to delve into conversations that reached beyond their textbooks - exploring homelessness and its link to social health determinants. Liz Virgo, Director of Education for The Greater Cincinnati Homeless Coalition, spoke with students about how they can volunteer with the coalition, and Sam, a community member shared his first-hand experiences. ?? ?? Exciting News for University of Cincinnati Students! ?? The Professional and Technical Career Fair kicks off today at 10 AM in the Campus Recreation Center. This is a golden opportunity for UC students and recent graduates to connect with recruiters and hiring managers for co-op positions, internships, and full-time, post-graduation jobs. ?? Here's what you need to know: More than 140 companies and organizations will attend each day, with a different set of companies daily. Tuesday is all about business fields, featuring co-op/internship and full-time opportunities. Open to students in all majors interested in working with primarily for-profit companies. All companies will be in the Campus Recreation Center. Wednesday and Thursday focus on engineering and IT: Wednesday: Companies will be in the Campus Recreation Center and the Tangeman University Center (TUC). Thursday: All companies will be in the Campus Recreation Center. Engineering and IT majors are encouraged to attend both days, as different companies will be present each day. Tips for Success: You don't need to attend the fair for the full five hours. Most students spend one to three hours over one or two days. Dress professionally and bring copies of your resume and your Bearcat Card (student ID). Make the most of this opportunity to advance your career!
