The Renesas Electronics series continues! Next up we are thrilled to introduce you to Malini Narayanamoorthi, Country Head of Renesas India and Vice President of MID Engineering. Malini is a results-driven and compassionate leader with more than two decades of global experience in the semiconductor industry. After advancing her career at leading companies such as Rambus, Synopsys, and National Semiconductors in North America and India, Malini joined Renesas at the time when we needed a strong leader with deep industry expertise to accelerate the growth for Renesas in India. Her outstanding contributions and leadership have made a significant impact to the business expansion, talent acquisition, and diversity and inclusion efforts in India. In January 2024, Malini was awarded the winner of the “Women Leader in the ESDM Industry Award” by India Electronics & Semiconductor Association. She is a proud alumna of RVCE Bangalore, NUS Singapore, and MIT Boston. Let's get to know Malini: Q. What advice would you give aspiring women in the industry? Believe in yourself even when the world questions your potential! There have been many times in my career journey where I have had to stay strong and trust in myself despite the head winds. Sometimes people around you have not noticed your inner strength, or you just have not had a chance to exhibit it. It might be hard to balance work and family but it’s important to believe in yourself and your abilities. On that note, Renesas has been full of new opportunities to grow and expand, learn new things, and broaden my horizons. The role at Renesas has helped me understand myself and bring out the best in me. Meeting new people has helped me find mentors that I can reach out to for advice. I love working with a diverse group of people, seeing what motivates them, and teaming with them to get a job done creatively. In turn, I try to bring out the best in every person and work on ensuring every voice gets heard. Q. What do you enjoy outside of work? I love to play sports, do art and read. My hobbies help in reinforcing teamwork and perseverance. I have two kids and sometimes managing my work and life can be hard as a mother and a leader. But the important thing is to balance as best as you can, not beat yourself up and most importantly to not give up. You are an inspiration for all, Malini! ? The WISH ? photos are here! We’re still riding the high of such an incredible event and memorable moment for our industry. This year’s WISH event didn’t just sell out—it doubled in size compared to last year! The atmosphere was electric, filled with inspiration, empowerment, and inclusivity. We’re already excited to see what’s in store for next year! One of the standout moments of the day came from this year’s Dr. Lisa Su Woman of Innovation Award recipient, Dr. Ann B. Kelleher, with this quote: “When you make mistakes or have a bad day, do you bounce like a tennis ball or like an egg?” Our keynote speaker, Christine King, the first female CEO of a semiconductor company, captivated the audience with her incredible story of resilience and strength, reminding us that the seeds of success are within us all. We were also privileged to hear from industry leaders including: ??Alexis Black Bjorlin, Vice President & GM, DGX Cloud, NVIDIA ?? Deirdre Hanford, Chief Executive Officer & Trustee, Natcast.org ?? Elif Balkas, Chief Technology Officer, Wolfspeed ?? Lalitha Suryanarayana, Vice President, Corporate Development and Strategy, Seagate Technology ?? Thank you ASE Global! We loved having the ASE team at WISH!
There were countless moments of enlightenment, inspiration, and camaraderie at the recent Global Semiconductor Alliance GSA Women's Leadership Initiative WISH 2024 conference in San Jose.?ASE was proud to sponsor such an impactful event that had almost doubled in size over the 2023 edition. #WISH2024 was where over 700 women (and some guys) gathered to hear from accomplished semiconductor industry executives that are fearlessly blazing trails in the AI era, yet paying forward with intention and resolve. Keynoter, Christine King, spoke candidly about her professional journey from humble beginnings to being the world’s first female CEO of a semiconductor company, with insights and humor, and we loved her shout out to ASE CEO Tien Wu during her talk! Breakout sessions were excellent, demonstrating innovations that are driving applications forward at unprecedented pace. Expert panel moderators including Sylvia Acevedo, Amber Huffman and Gayathri Radhakrishnan posed compelling questions to draw out thought-proving responses that promoted resiliency and determination, as well as allyship and collaboration.??And huge kudos to the panel of gentlemen, including Belli Kuttanna (Rivos Inc.), Nuno Ramalho (Synopsys Inc), Parthasarathy Ranganathan (Google), and Rajeev Pal?(Qualcomm), who all spoke from the heart to share perspectives and offer encouragement. Rani Borkar spoke passionately about continuous personal growth, sharing that “what got you here, won’t get you there.” Brava to a star of an EmCee, Annelise McCarthy, whose pizzazz was infectious, and to the extremely capable WLI team led by the amazing Traci Brandon (thanks as always to Ahlam Samad, Caitlin Kelley, Darla Vasquez, Shungo Saito). Of course, WISH 2024 would have been impossible without the vision of GSA CEO Jodi Shelton who has been instrumental in elevating the WLI platform, illuminating female leadership, and providing opportunities for women to gather and learn from some of the greats. Team ASE had the best time - and we're already excited about WISH 2025! #teamwork #advancedpackaging #heterogeneousintegration #VIPack

Our incredible and inspiring keynote at WISH!??
You know how some days just blow you away? That's exactly how I felt last week at #WISH! What a treat to be the keynote speaker in a room full of women who are passionate about engineering and technology. Looking out and seeing hundreds of women sitting in those chairs is a sight I dreamt I would see back when I started at IBM in the 70s. And GSA Women's Leadership Initiative has worked so hard to make this a reality. Thank you for letting me share my story with you! And for those who weren't able to attend, you can read my story and the lessons I've learned about being successful in life and business in Breaking Through the Silicon Ceiling: https://amzn.to/3T2OuFo #womeninsemi #womeninSTEM #womenintech #womenengineers

GSA Women's Leadership Initiative转发了
Have you ever heard that empowered women empower women? What about the good ol’ saying that to be a successful woman in tech, you need to learn to milk a cow? You may not believe me, but both were key themes from my last week. Stay with me… Last week I had the privilege of attending GSA Women's Leadership Initiative's Women in Semiconductor Hardware (WISH) conference. The conference featured: ? An inspiring keynote by Christine King ?? Thought-provoking panels on inspiring leadership journeys, allyship, and the future of AI ???? Technical breakout session on AI, test/ validation, process/ packaging/ assembly technology, and design technology ?? Awards for women doing amazing things in the industry ?? Energizing networking opportunities Some of my key takeaways: ?? Find ways to lead by proactively solving problems; don’t wait for someone to give you permission- “fill in the white space” (Christine King) ???As leaders, it’s important we build communities instead of teams. “Communities work together because they want to; teams work together because they have to” (Rani Borkar) ??When you make mistakes, when you have a bad day, “do you bounce like a tennis ball or do you bounce like an egg?”- (Ann Kelleher) ??Using gen AI to transcribe meeting notes helps highlight who is making contributions in a meeting (shoutout to #Copilot and one of my favorite uses!) This is extremely beneficial if there are voices that are spoken over or dismissed ??AI is not making stuff up, it is reflecting its training- let’s train it to think more diversly! Ok, back to why it’s important to milk a cow. It’s not. At least not exactly. What IS important is that if you want to achieve something, no matter how impossible it seems, you just…start. One foot in front of the other. Determination and resiliency were common traits amongst all the contributors at the conference. They were comfortable in the uncomfortable and pushing themselves to be ready for new challenges because, as they said, feeling ready is not a feeling at all, it’s a decision. ?? credit: Cecilia Xia #WISH2024 #WomenInSTEM #Semiconductor #GSA #Leadership #DiversityAndInclusion #WomenatMicrosoft
