The Living Room Story brings the iconic Sri Lankan brand Paradise Road to India for the first time with an exclusive pop-up at Peace Haven, Bandra, from 14th to 16th November 2024. Cofounded by Sanaa Choksi and Ashmi Bhansali of The Living Room Story, this selection features Paradise Road's classic dinnerware, serveware, and signature monochrome batik pieces, all handpicked alongside Founder Shanth Fernando’s daughter Annika. With guidance from curator Anaita Shroff Adajania, Shanth says, "This pop-up marks a first for Paradise Road—an international showcase that honours my brand’s legacy. Connecting with our Indian admirers means everything." Join us on a #GHHomeTours as we visit this project by Thomas Parambil Architects #HomeAndDesignTRENDS?#OutOnStandsNow Located a short distance from the city of Mysuru in Karnataka, this 4,034sqft holiday home is a stark departure from the glam and glitzy notions of luxury…instead, it manifests the idea of quiet luxury and living in close connection with nature. “The client presented us with a clear brief - a second home that would connect people to the farm setting. The endeavour was to create an architectural presence that seemed to have taken root naturally in this coconut and Areca palm-studded lushness,” says lead architect Thomas Parambil. The design team also included Nirali Salian and Bikash Jana. Factoring in the topography of the site and the plot’s location at its lowermost level, the team worked out a plan that leveraged this aspect. “Being situated at the lowermost point made the plot a natural catchment area for rainwater,” shares Thomas. “We turned this challenging site constraint into an advantage by channelling water inlets from different parts of the plot into a canal which then flowed into a large tank.” To read the full article, pick up the latest Home and Design TRENDS issue now!
