This shift is happening now. The March issue — which will be on our website March 11, with the print edition arriving in your mailbox around March 21 — marks the final print edition, and all future events, including the Garden Center Conference, will be conducted online. Those registered for the in-person event in Las Vegas will receive refunds and be automatically enrolled in the digital event, with more details being released soon. Stephanie Stuckey is the chair of Stuckey's , the roadside oasis famous for its pecan log rolls. The company was founded by Stephanie’s grandfather, W.S. Stuckey, Sr., as a pecan stand in Eastman, Georgia, in 1937 and grew to more than 350 stores across the country. The company was sold in 1964 but is now back in family hands and making a comeback after Stephanie took over the company in 2019. Under her leadership, Stuckey’s has rebranded its products and website, expanded its B2B retail customer base and increased online sales 550% — all while weathering the COVID-19 pandemic. Stephanie's grandfather built Stuckey's into an empire. How did he do it? What lessons can IGCs learn from W.S. Stuckey that can be applied today?
