I entered the MBA program with 7 years of professional experience. Half of my career was in Brazil, where I launched my first entrepreneurial venture, a coworking space, and worked as a business manager at a prestigious accounting firm. The other half of my experience comes from the U.S., where I worked for large global wellness enterprises in marketing and project management. In these roles, I collaborated with cross-functional and international teams, communicating daily in English, Portuguese, and Spanish. > What is the reason you joined the MBA program? I constantly challenge myself to expand my business knowledge and enhance my leadership skills. I actively seek opportunities to step outside my comfort zone and grow towards my full potential. Pursuing an MBA was the best path for me to continue developing, not only to contribute meaningfully to business and society but also to achieve a personal milestone. > What are your goals following graduation from the MBA Program? My goal is to join a large global organization where I can bring my authentic self, enhancing processes and driving innovation through both small and large initiatives. With a focus on Marketing and Supply Chain, I aim to work in one of these areas, with the long-term goal of advancing to a General Manager role.

MSU MBA Human Resources Association hosted alumni Mike Maglio from Google to share insights on finding the right career, how to best promote yourself and his journey into the HR profession. Here are some key takeaways from the session: > Understand the job description: Mike highlighted the necessity of understanding the complete job description to ensure alignment with role expectations. > Tailor your resume: Mike cautioned against the one-size fits all resume, instead stressing the importance of customizing your resume to reflect the position. > Focus on Networking Mike suggests that while networking is an important part of the job search, it must be completed with intention. He emphasized the importance of well-prepared resumes, applications and interview skills. > Applications Asked about application strategies, Mike suggested quality over quantity. He suggested taking the time to submit well-tailored applications over a large number.
