Fresh Start Cherokee was kick in’ yesterday morning with an all star panel, discussing the challenges, fortitude, vision and compassion that leaders must embody to keep afloat and grow legacy companies. ?? Pie Bar’s Lauren Bolden kept these gentlemen in order and entertained the crowd with her quick witted humor and poignant questions: Michael Caldwell of Black Airplane, @Spencer Nix of Reformation Brewery and Brett Waits of PLAE shared their sage advice — some of which was money in the entrepreneurial bank for me. A FEW TAKEAWAYS: ?? The vision and mission will change, but the leader must define it and promote ruthlessly. ?? People are most important and also your greatest asset and liability - ensure core values align to all who you bring in and understand the phases of growth for each hire. ?? Keep hungry - don’t become complacent when you hit a plateau of “rest”. Share the burden of leadership so you don’t get run down by the endless need to be pursuing new things as the market evolves. There were more, it was very entertaining and helpful. What are you investing in with your time to better yourself, connect with new people and seeing how we all fit together in community? These sort of events happen daily around Atlanta, and surely in your cities too! Go find one and jump right in.
