Introducing FPA NexGen Leadership Student Engagement Team! ?? FPA NexGen is led by a volunteer committee of next generation financial planning professionals. The committee leads the work of the community and develops programs and initiatives that connect and engage members with each other – nationally and locally. As a newly created sub committee, the Student Engagement Team was launched to serve as a liaison between FPA and student communities across the country. FPA values the ongoing work and effort of universities and their faculty in changing the landscape of the financial planning profession. FPA wants to help support students on their journeys to becoming CFP? professionals, and our student communities are key to engaging with students early in their careers. Goals for 2025 include: ??? Creating new unique connections between student communities & universities with local FPA chapters & FPA national? ?? Creating social media content highlighting student communities? ?? Selecting students currently enrolled in college to act as liaisons for the NexGen Board & the Student Engagement subcommittee to act as sounding boards for FPA resource curation & messaging? ?? Revamping the “Students” section of the FPA NexGen website Tyler Eckert, CFP? Eckert, Coordinator, graduated from the University of Wisconsin and is the Head of Trading at FAS Wealth Partners. He lives in Kansas, MO and is a member of the Greater Kansas City chapter. Tyler has served on the FPA NexGen Board for three years in various roles. Patrick Marcinko, CFP?, Co-Coordinator, graduated from Virginia Tech and is a Financial Advisor at Bogart Wealth. He lives in McLean, VA and is a member of the National Capital Area chapter. Julie Williams, Committee Member, graduated from the University of Wisconsin and is Financial Advisor & Senior VP at Wealthspire Advisor. She resides in Delafield, WI and is a member of the Wisconsin chapter. With varying tenure in the profession and leadership, each team member brings a unique perspective to what students may be looking for in terms of support as they begin to launch their career. In addition, their geographical location allows them to hear from students all across the country, so that their needs can be adequately heard and addressed. In order to achieve these goals, this team is busy meeting with students, alumni, and faculty to figure out ways in which FPA can support the next generation of financial planners.
