A group of Westmont Hilltop High School students and their instructors got a first-hand look at exciting work being done at Concurrent Technologies Corporation and its technology transition affiliate, Enterprise Ventures Corporation (EVC). The tour was part of CTC’s long-term partnership with Westmont Hilltop School District in The Challenge Program, Inc., which incentivizes students to develop good habits required to succeed in school and their careers. The tour guides shared their educational backgrounds and how they apply them at work. The group learned about a wide range of technologies that our companies use for our clients, including advanced coatings and a variety of innovative manufacturing solutions being developed using techniques such as friction stir welding, additive manufacturing (3D printing), and more. Forest Hills School District brought a few high school students in to visit us yesterday. These students have a genuine interest in employment at GapVax - summer work, work study, and post grad careers. Plant tours are a great way to increase interest for work study and summer internship opportunities. When students get to see the work being done and the work environment, along with the finished product, it encourages them to learn more about the possibilities out there. GapVax been working with Forest Hills and The Challenge Program, Inc. (TCP) to educate students on careers in our area as well as resume and interview skills. This has been a great learning experience all around.
