“To Seismic or Not to Seismic?” – Million Dollar Demountable Wall question….. Seismic bracing and Demountable walls have always shared an un-spoken understanding in years past.?If installing on the West Coast, the relationship went hand-in-hand; Demountable Walls + Seismic Brace = 2-Peas-in-a-pod.?You didn’t have one without the other, while everywhere else across the US… not so much. As the years have passed, the relationship lines have blurred.?More and more states have adopted the Seismic Bracing codes, as the earth continues to find its voice and ‘shout out loud’, in places where silence was once golden. This Hazard map from the 2023 50-state update of the National Seismic Hazard Model Project indicates just how far movement in the earth’s core has travelled and continues to expand.
