This afternoon, ExxonMobil Upstream President Dan Ammann met with the President of Mozambique, His Excellency Daniel Chapo. Mr. Ammann reaffirmed ExxonMobil's unwavering committment to Mozambique and our Rovuma LNG project, a strategic part of our company's global Upstream portfolio. During the meeting, President Chapo received updates on the progress of the ongoing Front End Engineering Design (FEED) work and required steps to achieve Final Investment Decision (FID) for the 18 MTA Rovuma eLNG project. This project is set to become the largest single LNG project in Africa, marking one of the most significant investments in African history, and standing out as one of the lowest Greenhouse Gas LNG projects globally. By working together with the Mozambican Government and our business partners in Area 4, we look forward to bringing the world-class resources of the Rovuma Basin on-stream and seeing the positive compounding effects on the local economy, industrialization and living conditions of the Mozambican people. #ExxonMobil #RovumaLNG #Mozambique #Area4

???We were proud to show our dedication to growing Africa’s energy industry last week while in Cape Town for?AEC African Energy Week. Here’s are a few highlights: 1?? ExxonMobil Africa?reaffirmed our commitment to help meet demand for affordable energy, while also lowering emissions.?In Mozambique, we're advancing a project in the Rovuma Basin that's?projected to produce 18 million tons of liquified natural gas per year. Target FID: 2026. 2?? We expect to create thousands of jobs and support local communities. Since 2006, we've invested more than $46 billion in new energy projects on the continent. And today more than 90% of our talented employees in Africa are African. We hosted the finals of a new regional ExxonMobil Foundation STEM competition with?Junior Achievement Africa. Over 3,000 students participated in early STEM quizzes and hundreds of students competed in local STEM competitions. The winning teams from Angola, Namibia, Nigeria and Mozambique presented their?solutions to real-world problems at?AEC African Energy Week. Based on what we saw from these students, we can confidently say that the future looks bright. Special thanks to?Katrina Fisher, Frank Kretschmer, Alvin Abraham?and our team on location. Katrina Fisher, thank you for your leadership and contributing to telling the ExxonMobil story of partnership, impact and value in Africa!????????
Yesterday we concluded an amazing week at AEC African Energy Week in Cape Town! Highlights: ?? The ExxonMobil Foundation’s Africa STEM Challenge finale. Judging the competition and seeing the 16 youth share their amazing ideas, passion and hard work was an incredible experience. This program impacted 1000’s of kids across the continent, equipping them with new skills and passion to solve the problems they are faced with every day. ?? Participating in the Invest in Angola Panel with colleagues across the industry. It was great to be able to share the amazing performance we’ve had in Block 15 over the last few years, our vision for the future and how that is supported by the policy Agência Nacional de Petróleo, Gás e Biocombustíveis is putting in place such as the new Incremental Production Legislation. I also was able to plug the great community work we are doing like our partnership with jr NBA ?? Contributing to a round table focused on Women in Energy. I joined an amazing group of women to have a discussion on what we see as the challenges in retaining women’s participation in the industry. This was a very diverse group from different countries, and different roles such as government to private sector to entrepreneurs. A very powerful discussion that we look forward to continuing forward. ?? Countless opportunities to network and make new connections. I’m leaving with several new ideas and resources to support our business and enable growth! ?? An opportunity to spend time with our ExxonMobil team from across Africa and continue to build on the strong network we have and celebrate our achievements across the continent. And many more highlights and special moments throughout the week. Thank you to the fantastic organisers for a great conference! #ExxonMobil #EEALProud #ExxonMobilFoundation #AfricanEnergyWeek ExxonMobil Africa

?? Africa Energy Week 2024: Inspiring the Future through Innovation and Resilience I had the incredible opportunity to attend Africa Energy Week and was both inspired and deeply moved. As a South African who has spent many years overseas but returns frequently, I’m always heartened to see a nation – and a continent – that is relentlessly committed to thriving in the face of complex challenges. One session that particularly stood out to me was hosted by ExxonMobil in collaboration with JA South Africa and celebrated the brightest young minds from across Africa. Students from Nigeria, Namibia, Angola, and Mozambique, some as young as my own children, presented innovative STEM projects that tackled real-world issues they face daily, like water contamination and plastic pollution. Witnessing these young people leverage science, technology, engineering, and math (#STEM) to create solutions for affordable, sustainable energy was nothing short of inspiring. Their dedication to addressing the pressing issues in their communities, and their freedom to express and innovate, is a testament to the potential this continent holds. Hearing their stories and learning about the personal motivations driving their projects reminded me that investing in STEM education is not just about shaping careers – it’s about empowering lives. These young innovators are preparing themselves and each other for a future that depends on their resilience and creativity. A special shoutout to the translators who impressively communicated in real time so we could all follow – your work made this experience accessible and impactful for everyone in the room. Africa Energy Week continues to be a powerful gathering of ministries, government officials, thought leaders, and businesses from around the world. I’m grateful for the opportunity to connect with so many inspiring professionals, and I look forward to future collaborations. Here’s to a future powered by young minds and innovative solutions! ?? #AfricaEnergyWeek #STEMEducation #Innovation #SustainableFuture #YouthEmpowerment #AfricaThrives #ExxonMobil

And Angola wins the ExxonMobil Foundation STEM Africa competition! These high school students bested their counterparts from Namibia, Mozambique and Nigeria at the regional finals held at the Africa Energy Week Conference in Cape Town, South Africa this week. It was an exciting finale to what has been months of grueling quizzes on STEM subjects (online and in-person) as well as innovation challenges across these four countries. We are incredibly proud of all our regional finalists. According to Alvin Abraham, President of ExxonMobil Foundation, “This program is not just a competition; it’s a platform for bringing classroom learning to life, providing an opportunity for cross-cultural exchange, and showcasing their ideas to energy industry leaders.” With over 3,000 students signing up for this first year of the program, we are encouraged that the future of STEM in Africa is bright. Special appreciation to our partner, Junior Achievement Africa and the governments of Nigeria, Angola, Namibia and Mozambique for their coordination and support. Let’s do it again! #AEW #AfricanEnergyWeek #ExxonMobil #ExxonMobilGiving #JuniorAchievementAfrica
