The Equitable Futures Fellowship recently launched with a powerful gathering in Honolulu, bringing together changemakers and activists from across sectors to tackle systemic inequities and reimagine leadership for a more inclusive future. Hosted by the?Doris Duke Foundation?and the?East-West Center, this transformative experience featured immersive workshops, thought-provoking site visits, and dynamic sessions aimed at equipping fellows with the tools and connections needed to drive meaningful change. From exploring Indigenous sustainability practices at Loko Pā?aiau Fishpond to engaging with renowned leaders like Dr. Angela Davis, the program highlighted the power of narratives, design, and action in creating equitable futures. Fellows also reflected on urban development, environmental restoration, and their personal journeys, culminating in a storytelling event that showcased their vision for change. The fellows will continue to engage through virtual sessions until May 2025, when they will reconvene in Wellington, New Zealand, to conclude the program and solidify their collective efforts toward a more equitable future.
