?? New Dataset Release! The MAMA-MIA Breast Cancer DCE-MRI Dataset is Now Publicly Available! ?? Developing reliable AI models for breast cancer MRI has long been limited by the lack of large, expert-annotated datasets. MAMA-MIA is here to change that! This benchmark dataset, published in Scientific Data, provides the largest publicly available breast DCE-MRI dataset with expert-validated 3D tumor segmentations, enabling AI research in breast cancer treatment and diagnosis. ?? What Can You Use MAMA-MIA For? ?? Automatic Tumor Segmentation: 1506 expert-validated 3D segmentations allow for the development of generalizable and robust AI models for breast cancer detection and segmentation. Pre-trained nnU-Net weights are included to serve as a baseline. ?? Treatment Response & Survival Prediction: Most AI models predicting response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) are trained on fewer than 300 cases. With 1,506 cases and clinical/treatment outcomes, MAMA-MIA enables robust benchmarking for AI-based response prediction. ? Segmentation Quality Control: MAMA-MIA facilitates research into AI-driven quality control mechanisms to improve reliability in clinical settings. ?? Image Synthesis & Standardization: With a diverse dataset spanning different scanners, protocols, and institutions, MAMA-MIA provides a real-world benchmark for image standardization, domain adaptation, and bias mitigation in AI models. ?? Fine-Tuning Foundational AI Models: The dataset supports fine-tuning multimodal foundation models for breast MRI tasks, helping to improve AI performance across imaging domains. ?? At the beginning of March. Medical Director, Andrea Corsi and Research Scientist, Samuele Ghezzo joined the European Congress of Radiology 2025 in Vienna, Austria.?The congress brought together leading minds in radiology and medical imaging from around the world, making it a crucial venue for networking and knowledge exchange.? ? At the EuCanImage Workshop, Samuele presented how AI can be used to detect and automatically segment hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) lesions. The workshop showcased the achievements of the EuCanImage consortium, and provided insights into how AI can address clinical challenges. It was a great moment in which experts from different fields had the opportunity to gain an insight ?into how the segmentation models developed by the different partners in the context of the HORIZON 2020 research and innovation program could impact the clinical workflow ensuring prompter and more precise and tailored care for patients.? ? The conference itself brought together renowned experts in the field that shared significant breakthroughs in imaging modalities, particularly in photon counting CT, and saw the rapid diffusion and adoption of artificial intelligence, deep learning algorithms and computer assisted diagnostic tools in the clinical workflow, with an attentive eye on sustainability, showing how the adoption of AI can have an impact not only in benefitting the patients but also in preserving the environment, inspiring us all in our journey to improve and optimize cancer care.?

Talk by Karim Lekadir – He presented the outcomes of #EuCanImage, which connects imaging archives to enable access to 24K annotated cases across three cancer types—a groundbreaking result in data-driven oncology!? ??? Workshop by EuCanImage – In this interactive session, the participants could run an in-silico trial, testing automatic segmentation models on three use cases (breast cancer on MRI, liver HCC on MRI, liver metastases on CT) and compare it with manual segmentations made by radiologists.
