The International Olympic Committee will vote on the creation of an “Olympic Esports Games” at the 142nd IOC Session this summer, adding it is already in advanced discussions with a potential host and an announcement can be expected “very soon.” Olympic Esports Week, which was held for the first time in Singapore in June, invited both professional and amateur players from across the world to compete in virtual sports competitions.

Northstar Meetings Group has announced the upcoming hosts for the EsportsTravel Summit—the only event of its kind for esports tournament and event organizers and the destinations and venues looking to host and support their events. In 2026, the event will be held in Cincinnati, Ohio. The 2027 event will be staged in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

The 2024 EsportsTravel Summit, May 29–31, was a tremendous success thanks to the hospitality of the city of Raleigh and the Raleigh Convention Center. Attendees not only learned from the education sessions filled with the top voices in the esports world, but also took part in a tour of North Carolina State University and its esports lab, as well as the NC State Athletic Hall of Fame. There was also plenty of food and entertainment, including the Opening Celebration at The Pit Authentic BBQ, Boxcar Bar + Arcade and Videri Chocolate Factory.
