?? New ethical reflection papers from the ESHRE Ethics Committee! The ESHRE Ethics Committee has released two key papers on critical topics in reproductive science and medicine: ?? Moral status of the embryo & embryo-like structures: this paper explores the ethical boundaries of embryo research and advocating for an extension of the research period to 28 days post-fertilisation. ?? Surrogacy: this second paper provides a thorough ethical analysis concluding that non-commercial surrogacy can be an acceptable option for intended parents who cannot carry a pregnancy. It also offers key recommendations for surrogacy arrangements. These papers offer a nuanced ethical analysis of the topic, building on the well known ESHRE Ethics and Law Task Force papers and thereby provide essential guidance for researchers, clinicians and policymakers in our field. ??
