Last week, the Secretary of State for Transport issued a letter indicating that she is “minded to grant” Gatwick’s application to bring its northern runway into full operational use. This decision comes as the Secretary of State proposes several significant changes to the terms of the proposed permission. Recognising the importance of transparency, she has ensured that all stakeholders have the opportunity to comment on these changes before the final decision, which is expected by the end of October 2025.
