Enterprise Singapore hosted over 200 businesses and 8 US economic development organisations at the SelectUSA ASEAN Roadshow, co-organised with Singapore Business Federation and U.S. Embassy Singapore U.S. Commercial Service Singapore. The event highlighted opportunities for Singapore companies at the SelectUSA Investment Summit in May, such as connecting with state representatives and gaining insights into various US states. Partnering for regional growth. Enterprise Singapore was delighted to meet with Director Darby Parliament and Kimberly Vega from the US Department of State East Asia and Pacific Affairs Bureau last week. We discussed the recently launched Business Innovation Fund 2.0, which Enterprise Singapore is partnering with the US-ASEAN Smart Cities Partnership to run, and explored other future-looking areas of partnership for the region. ????????Delighted to welcome Victor Fedeli, Minister of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade for Ontario, Canada, to MTI. ??Ontario is the largest province in Canada with ~40% of the national population. It also accounts for ~40% of Canada’s GDP. ??Minister Fedeli and I discussed opportunities to strengthen collaboration between Singapore and Ontario in trade, investment and innovation, including Fintech. I was encouraged to learn that Global Affairs Canada and the province of Ontario recently led a delegation of 8 Ontario companies to participate in the Singapore Fintech Festival 2024. ??I also welcomed the upcoming opening of Ontario's new Trade and Investment Office (TIO) in Singapore, an exciting milestone in our economic cooperation. The TIO will help boost links between our companies. It will help Ontario companies tap on Singapore as a gateway and launchpad to this region, and facilitate Singapore businesses looking at opportunities in Ontario.
