Today, we concluded our first EDC-MASLD Policy Forum, attended by 60+ participants, including experts from the ENKORE Cluster. The forum was a space for exchanging knowledge and aligning science with regulatory needs on endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs).? ? ? Highlights from the Forum:? ? Introduction by Tuulia Hy?tyl?inen (?rebro University) on EDC-MASLD and the ENKORE Cluster.? ? Presentations by Matej Oresic(?rebro University) on bile acids and liver health and Elisabetta Bugianesi and Chiara Rosso (University of Torino) on sexual dimorphism in liver damage.? ? Evidence synthesis used in EDC-MASLD and ENDOMIX by Jorke Kamstra (Utrecht University) and Georg Braun (Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research (UFZ)) to support risk assessment practices.? ? Ways forward for non-animal methodologies (NAMs) for EDC identification shared by You Song (NIVA) on Adverse Outcome Pathways (AOPs) in EDC-MASLD, Marie Louise Holmer (DTU - Technical University of Denmark) for MERLON research project, and Eva Serrano Candelas (ProtoQSAR) for HYPIEND.? ? ?? We are proud to announce the release of the first publication from the #ENDOMIX project! Titled "The ENDOMIX perspective: how everyday chemical mixtures impact human health and reproduction by targeting the immune system", this review discusses the risks posed by endocrine-disrupting chemicals (#EDCs) and how they affect our immune and reproductive health. ?? The paper highlights the challenges in understanding real-life chemical exposures and introduces the innovative approach taken by ENDOMIX to address these issues. ?? “We want to protect reproductive and sexual health, that is what it is all about,” said Terje Svingen, MERLON project coordinator at the 6th Annual Forum on #EndocrineDisrupters. He highlighted how the project will help chemical risk assessors and policymakers to better identify and ultimately regulate EDCs. Today, I had the opportunity to present our #EU project ENDOMIX at the #EDforum in Brussels. Along with colleagues from ENKORE Cluster and #Eurioncluster we also had a very interesting podium discussion. Thanks Julien Fabre for having us! It is very inspiring to be part of the process of making this planet healthier and safer not only by understanding the impact of #EndocrineDisruptors on health but also by shaping chemical regulation!
