关于我们
Kidney disease disproportionately affects Black/African American communities in the United States. Black/African Americans are three times more likely to develop kidney failure compared to other ethnic groups. This disparity is attributed to genetic, socioeconomic, and healthcare access factors. High rates of hypertension, diabetes, and obesity further exacerbate the risk of kidney disease in these populations. Early detection and intervention are crucial in mitigating the progression of kidney disease and improving outcomes. The EMBARK Awareness Program aims to address these disparities by raising awareness and providing screening opportunities in Black/African American communities. By partnering with local organizations and healthcare providers, we will educate at-risk individuals, offer screening for proteinuric and cardiometabolic kidney disease, and provide guidance and support for follow-up kidney disease care, clinical trial participation, and peer support.
