Singing Our Way Into Power ?? A mid-week, mid-day pick-you-up! You ever stumble across something so unexpectedly perfect that you have to pause and take it all in? That was us this week when we discovered 'Beautiful Chorus'—a collective of women harmonizing their way through powerful affirmations like a spiritual pep talk wrapped in melody. Their song Into My Power? A whole vibe. It’s about embracing every part of yourself—the light, the dark, the quirky, the "I-don’t-care-how-this-looks" version of you. And the video? Pure joy. it's like a shot of pure, unadulterated joy straight to the soul. Think vibrant colors, infectious energy, and affirmations so catchy, they'll be stuck in your head all day (in the best way possible!). This Women’s History Month, we’re taking a page (or a note?) from their book: affirming the self loudly, celebrating just because, and stepping fully into our power. Because what’s more historic than women claiming their space, their voice, and their joy? So, if you need a little boost of confidence, a reminder of your own awesomeness, or just a good dance break, check out Beautiful Chorus. Seriously, your inner goddess will thank you! Let's all crank up the volume and sing along: "I am coming into my power! Check them out and the video out in the comments!? Happy Wednesday! #WomensHistoryMonth #BeautifulChorus #IntoMyPower #SelfLove #Empowerment #FindYourJoy #MusicThatHeals #WomensHistoryMonth #IntoMyPower #AffirmationsOnRepeat

Welcome to Women’s History Month: The Power of US! As we step into Women’s History Month, we’re reflecting on the power of conversation—conversations that ignite change, deepen understanding, and challenge the status quo. Tammy Williams' post captured this past week’s discussion perfectly what the Community Circle is all about: creating a space for real talk, where we unpack the barriers that professional women, especially Black women, face. We’re here to go beyond the surface—to dismantle, reframe, and empower. Through conversations with speakers like Christina Blacken, Kat Gabrielle, and Joy'El Ballard, MD,FACOG, Denitresse Ferrell, Zhalisa "Zee" Clarke . . . we are committed to delivering quality programming that centers our well-being, our success, and our collective growth. Let's continue to amplify the voices of women, especially during Women's History Month and beyond.?Be part of the dialogue. Tag someone who needs to be in this space. #WomensHistoryMonth #CommunityCircle #BlackWomenInTheWorkplace #Allyship

I thoroughly enjoyed listening to a recent talk by Christina Blacken, founder of The New Quo about Invisible Labor. Christina led a thought-provoking discussion on the unique challenges faced by Black women in the U.S., including that despite being the most educated demographic, Black women experience the highest unemployment rate at 5.4%. Christina highlighted the concept of narrative intelligence as crucial in leadership development. She identified key moments—such as origin, adversity, innovation, and success—as pivotal in uncovering hidden skills and values. I really appreciated that the discussion also addressed the pervasive issue of microaggressions toward Black women in the workplace. The following really stuck with me: 1. Assumptions about competence, wherein colleagues may question their qualifications or abilities, often assuming they are less competent than their peers. 2. Black women being subjected to stereotypes, such as being perceived as "angry" or "aggressive" when they assert themselves, ask questions or speak with authority. 3. Invisibility is when their contributions and achievements may be overlooked or minimized, leading to feelings of being undervalued. 4. Being left out of important meetings, social events, or decision-making processes. These microaggressions can have a significant impact on Black women's mental health and career progression. It's crucial for organizations and individuals to recognize and address these behaviors to create a more inclusive and supportive work environment. Christina emphasized the need for allies to recognize and call out these subtle, often unintentional, discriminatory behaviors. She underscored the importance of allies going beyond tokenism and actively advocating for Black women, ensuring their contributions are recognized and valued. Thank you Christina Blacken, for your discussion. I'm a fan and look forward to hearing you speak again! #blackwomenintheworkplace #microaggressions Ellevate Network #inclusiveworkenvironments

As we wrap up Black History Month, let’s pause and reflect—not just on the achievements we’ve celebrated, but on the challenges that still remain. We've celebrated the brilliance and resilience of our ancestors, but we've also witnessed the persistent headwinds against progress. This year, we’ve seen growing resistance to DEI initiatives, shifts in leadership that often leave us questioning what progress truly looks like, and systemic hurdles that seem designed to test our resilience. And yet, we stand—thriving, leading, and building spaces where we are seen, valued, and heard. Black History Month isn’t just about remembering the past; it’s about using that history as fuel for the present and the future. It’s about recognizing that our leadership is needed now more than ever—in the boardroom, in our industries, in our communities. It’s about reaffirming that DEI isn’t just a corporate buzzword; it’s a necessity, and we won’t allow our voices to be silenced. So, as this month closes, let’s take what we’ve gained—whether it was inspiration from a fireside chat, a connection with another powerhouse woman, or simply a renewed sense of purpose—and carry it forward. How are you committing to showing up for yourself and your community beyond this month? #BlackHistoryMonth #Leadership #WeAreTheCulture #ProfessionalWomen #BlackExcellence #BeyondFebruary

Meet the Speaker: Christina Blacken – Changing the Story We're super excited to highlight Christina Blacken, a total game-changer in the world of leadership and change. Christina's not just a speaker; she's a storyteller, a performer, and the founder and Chief Story Strategist of The New Quo. Her company is all about building inclusive leadership and making real change happen in organizations. Christina's work really hits home during Black History Month. It's a time to celebrate the incredible contributions and experiences of Black people, and Christina's focus on narrative intelligence is spot on. She helps leaders get their own stories straight, but more importantly, she teaches them how to really listen to and value the stories of others, especially those from marginalized communities. This is so important for breaking down biases and building truly equitable spaces. As a storytelling expert, Christina gives leaders the tools they need to have tough conversations, build stronger trust, and smash the status quo. Her New Quo Change Model, which uses neuroscience, equity principles, and narrative intelligence, has already helped over 14,000 leaders across all kinds of industries. It's a powerful way to understand and deal with the messy stuff around change, especially when it comes to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Christina's making waves beyond the corporate world and universities. She's been featured in big names like the NY Times, Forbes, Business Insider, and Nasdaq.com, which shows how much of an impact she's having. She's originally from Utah but has been living in NYC for 14 years, giving her a cool mix of perspectives. And yeah, she's got some interesting jello stories (we won't go there!). Let's give it up for Christina Blacken and her work to rewrite the rules of leadership. She's a true inspiration, showing us all how to build a more just and equitable future.
