Yesterday we celebrated International Women's Day 2025, we know it's a little early but we wanted to make sure all our teams could be involved. But we also recognize the urgent need for action, because the fight for gender equality is far from over. Key realities shaping women’s rights today: ?? Workplace Inequality: Women still earn 20% less than men for the same work and hold less than 10% of CEO positions in FTSE 100 companies. Closing this gap could boost global GDP by $12 trillion by 2025. ?? Legal Setbacks: In 2024, 1 in 4 countries reported a rollback in women's legal protections.... a worrying trend. ?? Gender-Based Violence: Demand for support services has skyrocketed, with some regions seeing a 288% increase last year. ??? Political Representation: Only 5 women were elected in direct presidential elections globally in 2024. ?? Let's listen to our body despite the noise surrounding busy days and make room in our planning to get tested! According to a 2021 study by an insurance company, 4 out of 5 women first take care of a loved one's health problems before looking after their own. The result: on average, 8 out of 10 women put off going to the doctor in favor of self-medication, while 7 out of 10 say they would never miss a loved one's medical appointment. ?? ?? ?? NO you... I meant to say we ?? are not too young to test: Overall, about 11% of all breast cancers occur in women younger than 45, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). ? Let’s make an appointment and get screened frequently and diligently. Bravo and thank you to all the fighters (Mum you are the best!). We ran for #PinkOctober ???? The elle legrand network proudly supported women’s health by launching a sporty challenge in honor of Pink October. Whether it's by running, biking, hiking, walking, canoeing, surfing, skiing, or even crawling—solo or in teams—Legrand employees came together to log as many kilometers as possible in support of this cause to raise funds to support those affected by breast cancer and contribute to research, early detection, and treatment. The goal was to reach the same distance as the one from the Earth to the Moon ???? Did we rise to the challenge? The photos say it all!?
