Since 2015, we have been supporting state and national domestic violence, sexual assault, and child advocacy coalitions in their efforts to collect mission-critical data and generate meaningful reports for their funders. Our Coalition Manager software platform, which offers technical assistance, training, time tracking, and robust funding reports, has grown significantly and is now in use by over 50 coalitions throughout the nation. In conversations with Coalition Manager users, we have heard time and time again about the real need for a better software solution for local agencies and member programs - one that would simplify data entry, eliminate data duplication, protect victim confidentiality at the highest level, and reduce the amount of time spent collecting and organizing reports. We began this journey in August of 2020 in collaboration with the Missouri Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Violence, and a diverse focus group of both large and small domestic violence and sexual assault agencies. Throughout the process, we learned about the unique needs and challenges that agencies face every day, dove deep into the major funding reports, and incorporated what we know of advocacy best practices and requirements for confidentiality. Out of the care and attention of so many advocates and our passion to build software that makes a difference, came Vela - an app we’re proud to call your own. “The system is amazing!
