Today, we concluded our first EDC-MASLD Policy Forum, attended by 60+ participants, including experts from the ENKORE Cluster. The forum was a space for exchanging knowledge and aligning science with regulatory needs on endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs).? ? ? Highlights from the Forum:? ? Introduction by Tuulia Hy?tyl?inen (?rebro University) on EDC-MASLD and the ENKORE Cluster.? ? Presentations by Matej Oresic(?rebro University) on bile acids and liver health and Elisabetta Bugianesi and Chiara Rosso (University of Torino) on sexual dimorphism in liver damage.? ? Our partner institute, ?rebro University, led by Professors Matej Oresic and Tuulia Hy?tyl?inen, has identified PFAS exposure as a significant factor affecting liver health in women. The study links these chemicals to non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (MASLD) and metabolic disruption. PFAS, consisting of over 4,700 persistent chemicals, poses long-term risks to public health.
