The Eagleton Center on the American Governor is very sad to hear of the passing of Michael Aron, a true pillar of New Jersey politics and media. Michael has been an important part of our work and our archive, including as a frequent contributor and panelist in our roundtables and as an interviewer of former governors and administration members. As just one example, Michael's first archive interview with Governor Tom Kean can be seen here: https://lnkd.in/dZiMZtRX Michael Aron brought incredible insight and knowledge to everything he did and will be missed both here at the Center and throughout the state. Our condolences to his family and to the New Jersey political community.

Ingrid was a giant in New Jersey. She knew everything about the state and its politics and was tremendous teacher and, most important, a kind and thoughtful person. It was always a good day when Ingrid was around. The Center on the American Governor, the Eagleton Institute of Politics, and the State of New Jersey will all miss her greatly.

For those who might be curious: ? Almost 1/3 of U.S. vice presidents served as governors before their vice presidency. But it has not been the trend recently: only 3 vice presidents in the past 100 years have had gubernatorial experience, most recently former Indiana Governor Mike Pence (R). ? That means just over half of this year’s gubernatorial races now have their nominees, with the rest to be determined in August and September.
