America is bracing for a new administration. One thing has not changed. In fact, momentum is growing for our federal lawmakers to pass common sense legislation saving many lives and a lot of taxpayer money. Please, make your voice heard for the End Kidney Deaths Act. #shareyourspare #savetaxpayermoney

Inspiring Americans to share their spare, advocating for policies encouraging donation, educating about kidney disease.
关于我们
Drive for Five is a completely volunteer-based network designed to recruit more live organ donations, lessen kidney disease affliction and advocate for better legislative policies concerning live organ donation. America has a kidney crisis that's getting worse. Drive for Five's goal is to recruit 5,000 to, "Share your spare, save a life and leave a priceless Legacy." What most folks have in abundance - kidney, lobe of liver or bone marrow - can be shared to those in desperate need of new life through live organ donation. It's estimated around 16 Americans die each day awaiting a transplant. DFF is targeting fit and healthy American adults at a stage in life where they're looking for a way to give back to their communities in a significant way. As one of DFF's Founders, Olympian Crissy Perham, so wonderfully stated, "It's better than gold and silver." The former University of Arizona All American swimmer would know, she won two golds and a silver at the 1992 Barcelona Games and donated a kidney to Dick Franklin, father of five-time Olympic gold winning swimmer, Missy Franklin. On the wellness side of things, the Drive for Five network also advocates for healthier lifestyles. America's out of shape. Obesity, high blood pressure, diabetes and fatty liver disease are kidney killers. Their numbers continue to rise. Drive for Five advocates for wellness to help 5,000 NOT fall into kidney disease. Dialysis is no fun. Finally, Drive for Five advocates at the state and federal levels for better policies concerning live organ donation. Current policies make it difficult for many of modest to meager financial means and labor-focused jobs to consider sharing their spare and saving a life. We need to change policies that no longer work considering the growing kidney crisis in America.

Transplant lists are long and the supply of donors is woefully short. Kudos to all trying to change this tragic scenario. #shareyourspare #savealife #lesskidneydisease

The DFF crew salutes the efforts of Kidney Donor Athletes, Inc. and its inspiring campaign, "Next Step, Next One." These short and brilliantly produced videos sound the alarm about America's growing kidney crisis. Yes, we need more live organ donations and less kidney disease. America also needs lawmakers at the state and federal levels to realize they can help lessen the suffering too. That's where the End Kidney Deaths Act comes into play. What is that? Watch this short video, hosted by former Denver7 (KMGH-TV) anchor Mitch Jelniker. This is sensible legislation that will save lives and tax payer dollars! #shareyourspare #savealife #lesskidneydisease https://lnkd.in/gMihURBz

DFF is impressed tremendously with Kidney Donor Athletes, Inc. promotional campaign, "Next Step, Next One." Content director Brian Tiell has done a great job of capturing inspirational stories designed to encourage folks to share their spare and save a life. The project is also designed to instill hope for those currently waiting on a transplant list and praying for a new lease on life. Your scribe knows that space and is darn grateful to no longer dwell there. The least DFF can do is advocate fiercely for those in need and salute those who shared, like my donor Cathie Hitchcock. https://lnkd.in/ggNdsNQ2

Those who care for others. Awesome folks. Live-saving standouts. Superstars in the eyes of those, including self, who receive. As a transplant recipient who knows many are in need and the supply is low, a grateful thank you for sharing your spare. Speaking for those still on a transplant list, I pray, three minutes of somebody's time may stir something within to consider. #shareyourspare #savealife #lesskidneydisease

There are so many who have influenced a 66-year-old dude who loves to write about messages from moments. Few rival an incredible man in his final days. I hope you enjoy this tribute to my uncle, Al McIntosh. #shareyourspare #savealife #lesskidneydisease
