One of the most beautiful applications of photogrammetry is archaeology. Archaeologists need to capture data on sites or objects and then create high-resolution 3D models so that conservators can view structures remotely or create drawn records that can be incorporated into publications or site archives. This is a model made in the Fuladi Valley, located in the World Heritage site of Bamiyan, Afghanistan. The area contains numerous Buddhist monastic ensembles and sanctuaries (1st to the 13th centuries), as well as fortified edifices from the Islamic period. The model was generated with hashtag #iTwinCaptureModeler using over 7,000 Skydio X10 and 2+ drone photos. Credits to UNESCO and Daoud Bouledroua (aeGIS) for capturing and processing the data. ??
