The BRIDGE Fund Innovation Showcase highlighted the translational research by UMass Chan Medical School faculty that is progressing toward commercialization thanks, in part, to investments from the BRIDGE Fund: https://direc.to/mDjA Parth Chakrabarti, MPH, MBA, executive vice chancellor for innovation and business development, presented the BRIDGE Impact Report FY21-24 showing that UMass Chan has generated $99.76 million in licensing and royalty revenues since fiscal year 2021. During that same period, it garnered $54.2 million in industry-sponsored research contracts and was issued 163 U.S. patents. Evaluating cognitive data regularly in older adults can improve the ability to predict whether they will develop Alzheimer’s disease, UMass Chan researchers find: https://direc.to/mFPo “There are FDA-approved drugs that can help patients diagnosed in early stages of Alzheimer’s disease,” said Honghuang Lin, PhD, professor of medicine and co-director of the Program in Digital Medicine at UMass Chan Medical School. Dr. Lin said the model can also be applied to other scenarios, such as monitoring ICU patients for potential rapid changes in their condition by continually analyzing blood pressure, heart rate and other critical vital signs.
