Securing funding for circular projects for European cities and regions.

关于我们

Funded and launched by the European Commission via the Horizon Europe Programme, the Deal Engine with Finance, Investment and Technical Expertise for the Circular Cities and Regions Initiative (DEFINITE-CCRI) provides project development assistance (PDA) to European circular economy projects by attracting relevant investments. Our aim is to show that circular investments can be both impactful and financially viable. Currently, projects receiving European or national funding are often based on circular strategies with lower impact, while those with higher potential are often perceived as risky and are, therefore, sidelined. DEFINITE-CCRI responds to this challenge by developing a PDA mechanism to deliver bankable circular projects to investors. Our services include technical, legal and financial development assistance, as well as tailor-made guidance on how to fulfil requirements for successful investment applications. We help project developers to mitigate implementation risks and improve their projects in order to obtain signed investment commitments. In addition, we build partnerships with funders, investors and financial institutions who are eager to support a circular economy, ensuring a pipeline of high-quality projects. DEFINITE-CCRI supports the European Commission’s strategic approach of developing more advanced circular economy projects under real market conditions. In this way, it contributes to the European Green Deal, the Circular Economy Action Plan and the Bioeconomy Strategy in practice. The project is enabled by ICLEI European Secretariat GmbH, Bankers without Boundaries, Circle Economy, National Technical University of Athens, and City of Ghent.
