Connected Care Center at Dartmouth Health seeks a skilled medical copywriter to create engaging and informative medical stories/articles. Primary focus of these pieces will be on how Dartmouth Health utilizes telehealth to enable hospitals to deliver the right care for patients in the right place despite all the rural challenges we face, like access to healthcare, workforce shortages, transportation concerns, etc.?Ideal skills for this position include: *Proven experience in medical and article writing (successful history of publication preferred, not required) *Strong understanding of the medical field *Ability to write in a clear, engaging style *Ability to work well with team members?*Familiarity with telemedicine is good but not required. Goal is to complete 3 pieces, which may include case reports and/or service impact stories. DH telehealth services are designed to drive accessible, efficient and effective care by complementing and enhancing existing programs and services provided in local communities. DH’s Connected Care telehealth program currently serves more than 30 hospitals in New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine, Massachusetts, and New York, providing services such as TeleEmergency, TeleICU, TeleICN (Intensive Care Neonatology), TeleNeurology, TelePharmacy, TelePsychiatry, and Outpatient Virtual Visits.

As we wrap up #HeartMonth this week, we wanted to highlight the work of our Central Monitoring Techs (CMTs)! They provide continuous cardiac monitoring to patients requiring telemetry across several inpatient units at DHMC. You can rest assured that the CMTs have eyes on patient heart rhythms 24/7, communicating changes with nursing and patient care teams at the bedside, emergently when necessary. There are several things about our telepharmacist Sheryl Gamble, PharmD that make her unique. She is a Dartmouth Health Connected Care remote employee who works from her home office in Jacksonville, FL, she prefers the overnight shift, and she and her husband are the owner/operators of Veterans United Craft Brewery, the second-largest production brewery in northeast Florida, which is also focused on helping veterans. She works when most people are asleep and says, “The nights may be long at times, but I love it. I can't imagine doing anything else.” Sheryl has worked at Dartmouth Health’s TelePharmacy for three years, helping her husband build the brewery business in her off hours. It is named Veterans United Craft Brewery because it is a veteran-owned and -operated production facility that employs mostly veterans for positions in brewery operations, accounting, sales and staffing the taproom. Last year, Cheshire Medical Center adopted continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), a form of 24-hour dialysis, in its intensive care unit, and we’re proud to help Cheshire bring this life-saving treatment to patients through our TeleICU service. Since 2017, doctors and nurses in our TeleICU hub at Dartmouth Health have supported Cheshire's bedside ICU clinicians as they care for critically ill patients. This new therapy allows patients with kidney failure to receive care close to home, surrounded by loved ones.
