In mid-January, North Texas’ top innovators gathered at On The Levee in the Dallas Design District for the sixth annual Innovation Awards, hosted by?D CEO?and?Dallas Innovates. The dynamic event honored entrepreneurs, corporate leaders, and trailblazers who are driving innovation across the region in industries ranging from technology and healthcare to finance and real estate.? The program recognized 75 finalists and winners across 17 categories. Notable individual honorees included Taylor Calise of Imaginuity (Emerging Leader of the Year), Dave Copps of Worlds (Startup Leader of the Year), Brad Alberts of the Dallas Stars (Corporate Leader of the Year), and Harsh Singla of INTEGRITY MARKETING GROUP LLC (CIO/CTO of the Year). There was a certain poetry to the dust storm that settled around downtown Dallas just as the saga of the downtown Neiman Marcus store took another turn. The fierce winds brought a sense of heightened intensity and the feeling that Something Was Happening. And indeed something was, at the corner of Main and Ervay streets in downtown Dallas. Meet the Dallas 500: Jessie Quick Stanton, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas Jessica “Jessie” Quick Stanton assumed her role as divisional senior vice president for sales and marketing in 2023, filing the shoes of Darrell Beckett, who had been with the health insurance provider for 17 years. Quick, who joined Blue Cross in 2009, rose to become vice president of sales and account management before assuming her latest role. Active in the community the Leadership Dallas graduate supports the Dallas Children's Advocacy Center and BCBSTX’s Women Improving the Strength of the Enterprise (WISE) program.?She is also the executive sponsor of the Paul Quinn College Internship program for BCBSTX. A yoga master who doesn’t mind making a fool of herself, Stanton says she is proud of how the state’s largest insurer has responded to the needs of Texas’ booming population. On December 4, more than 200 healthcare executives, practitioners, volunteers, and innovators gathered at On The Levee in the design district to celebrate the finalists and honorees in?D CEO’s 2024 Excellence in Healthcare Awards. Guests enjoyed a networking cocktail hour before taking their seats for dinner and a special awards program. This year, 15 awards were presented. Award categories ranged from company recognitions such as Achievement in Healthcare Innovation and Achievement in Community Outreach to individual honors such as Outstanding Hospital Executive and Outstanding Healthcare Advocate.?? Each year,?D CEO?makes it a priority to compile and publish a list of the region’s top commercial real estate brokers. We ask the leaders of North Texas brokerages to tell us who generated the most revenue for their companies in in the previous year. The number of names they are allowed to submit is based on their total number of licensed brokers, with a couple of exceptions for equal partners and smaller firms.?For 2025, executives at nearly 100 firms employing nearly 3,000 brokers participated.

While the saying “What you don’t know can’t hurt you,” can occasionally be true, it also doesn’t hurt to receive a little guidance every now and then. Especially when it comes to your career path and learning the ins and outs of the corporate structure, regardless of industry. The bottom line is this: there are times the smallest word of encouragement can help one’s professional journey. We asked Barry Shurkey of NTT DATA North America, Dione Kennedy (she/her) of Bass Performance Hall / Performing Arts Fort Worth, and Aasem Khalil of Goldman Sachs which piece of advice has stuck with them the most.
