Paul Hawken y'all! What a treat. I read The Ecology of Commerce when I started working at Sports Endeavors and have since been obsessed and dedicated to the opportunities of business doing good as its core. There are so many moments where perfect becomes the enemy of good, better, or progress. That paradigm makes it easy for people to give up, to settle, and to focus on metrics that lack true sustainability. It's a new day. In my papers I talk about "meaningful engagement" and at The Recycling Partnership we work on "unlocking change that wouldn't otherwise happen."
