Like many big companies, Allstate is trying to craft a post-pandemic?workplace strategy that actually works. While some companies swear by a fully-remote experience?and others (Amazon, Goldman Sachs, UPS) force staffers back to worksites?full-time, the insurance giant is trying to thread the needle with a novel?approach that incorporates a model?—?coworking —?that’s typically associated with scrappy startups and freelancers, not firms founded during the?Great Depression. Coworking has been through the wringer lately?amid the upheaval in commercial?real estate?and the?dramatic?flameout of WeWork, the industry’s problematic?poster child, which recently?emerged from bankruptcy under new ownership. There’s no guarantee Allstate’s balancing act will work, but there’s no going back:?It’s already sliced its office footprint by two-thirds, including the sale?of?two big properties?in the Chicago area, and slashed?its annual spending on corporate offices?from $382?million in 2020?to $138?million this year. In honor of Veterans Day, we celebrate all of our nation's heroes and we thank you for your service! On our front, we put some data to good use in order to pinpoint the U.S. cities that are best suited to accommodate veterans and their families after retiring from military life. Specifically, we looked at metrics such as the percentage of veterans among the total population, the number of veteran-owned businesses, their employment status and income, the number of veteran healthcare providers and pediatricians, as well as the air quality and green spaces, among others. The UK and Ireland had a total of 3,323 coworking spaces at the end of Q3, with Greater #London alone being home to 887 spaces, while #Dublin had almost half of Ireland's supply - 116. Despite #telecommuting being one of the key factors reshaping traffic patterns across the U.S., its impact on #congestion is far from consistent. And while remote work can alleviate some congestion, it is not an across-the-board solution. Our most recent data analysis found that nationwide, Omaha, NE, saw the biggest decrease in #traffic congestion?between 2019-2023 - of 29% -, while Columbia, SC, saw the biggest increase?of 77%. Flex workspace operator Cubo Work has recently announced the opening of its first space in #London. The company purchased a premier office space in Soho Estate’s reputable Ilona Rose House, W1, situated barely 100 meters from Tottenham Court Road Station. Cubo recently acquired Ilona Rose House as part of its strategic expansion goals, increasing its total number of properties in the UK to 13.
