Congratulations to Drs. Candice Jersey, DO, Andrew Heggland, MD, Douglas Moote, MD, Michael Brimacombe, PhD, and Henry Chicaiza, MD on the recent publication of the article titled, “Furosemide use to expedite bladder filling in pediatric females with suspected ovarian torsion: A randomized controlled pilot study.” When patients are suspected to have ovarian torsion, bladder filling can be a limiting factor in its diagnosis. This study identified the usage of low dose furosemide in IV fluid administration has statistically significant differences in bladder filling in pediatric females awaiting a pelvic ultrasound.
