    "The Value of Communality for Leaders" Wednesday, March 26, 6 p.m. ET Arte Cafe, New York City ?? https://lnkd.in/ez3FtYxT Join Rebecca Ponce de Leon, Assistant Professor of Business in the Management Division, and fellow alumni on Wednesday, March 26, at 6 p.m. ET for "The Value of Communality for Leaders," a Women's Circle networking event in New York City open to all CBS alumni. At this special event, Professor Ponce de Leon will discuss her research that finds that when evaluating leaders, followers especially value communal traits, including honesty, open-mindedness, and compassion, over agentic traits such as assertiveness, ambition, and confidence.

  • On February 26, Columbia Business School’s Smith Scholars met with CBS Board Member Robert F. Smith '94, Founder, Chair and CEO of Vista Equity Partners, for a special luncheon at the Economic Club of New York. Mr. Smith met with the current CBS students prior to discussing technology investment, innovation and effective leadership with the Economic Club of New York. ? At the luncheon, the School's Black Business Students Association (BBSA) presented Mr. Smith, a former BBSA president during his time at CBS, with a Columbia letterman jacket as a gesture of their appreciation.
