I recently had an issue with the State of CO charging me for back taxes on my 2020 contributions. After unsuccessfully trying to resolve it myself, I found my way to Shelley Tirrell who graciously contacted the state of CO on my behalf and stayed in touch with me over the last few weeks until the issue was resolved. 2024 Tax Updates are Here: Greetings, Colorado financial professionals and tax enthusiasts. As we embark on a new year, it's time to delve into the freshly unveiled tax numbers for 2024 in the beautiful state of Colorado. Hold on to your calculators, because there are some noteworthy changes that might just put an extra spring in your step. Good news for those who look forward to the tax deduction from 529 plans! The standard deduction for 2024 has seen a modest increase, providing taxpayers with a more substantial baseline deduction to ease their tax burdens. The new College Deduction limits for tax year 2024 are $22,700 for single filers and $34,000 for joint filers. This inflation adjustment is based on the data provided by CDHE on 11/27/2023.
