Thank you for joining us as we marked Australia’s second CISM, bringing focus and action to uplift the security and resilience of Australia’s critical infrastructure!   • Yesterday at the Australian Information Security Association (AISA) 2024 Australian Cyber Conference, Shilpa Maniar, Director of Critical Infrastructure Strategic Policy and Jessica Robinson, Director of Cyber Legislative Reforms presented on Australia’s Landmark Cyber Security Legislative Package. ? The package will implement seven initiatives under the 2023-2030 Australian Cyber Security Strategy by introducing new legislation and implementing reforms under the Security of Critical Infrastructure Act. ? Shilpa and Jessica highlighted how the package will address legislative gaps to bring Australia in line with international best practice and ensure Australia is on track to become a world leader in cyber security. ? Philippa Cogswell highlights the alarming increase in speed, scale, and sophistication of cyber adversaries' operations. In 2021, data exfiltration took an average of nine days post-compromise, by 2023, this has dropped to just two days, underscoring the critical need for near real-time defensive responses.
