Our programs focused on child-directed marketing help businesses meet legal requirements and self-regulation standards that promote responsible children’s advertising and data collection practices. Our programs include the nation’s first Safe Harbor Program under the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the Children’s Advertising Review Unit (CARU), as well as two programs created to improve the landscape of food advertising to children under age 12, the Children’s Food and Beverage Advertising Initiative (CFBAI) and the Children’s Confection Advertising Initiative (CCAI).
