Chevron Bangladesh, in collaboration with Green Savers, has inaugurated a tree plantation program near the Bibiyana Gas Plant in Habiganj. Over the next five years, this initiative will maintain over 4,000 high-quality seedlings, including flowers, fruit trees, wood trees, and medicinal plants which were planted recently. This initiative prioritizes indigenous species to enhance biodiversity, improve air quality, and provide food and shelter for local wildlife and reduces sound pollution as well. ? Last week, the U.S.-Bangladesh Business Council (USBBC) hosted a landmark roundtable in New York with H.E. Dr. Muhammad Yunus and key U.S. officials, including Ambassador Geoff Pyatt. Over forty American executives including Chevron Bangladesh President and Managing Director, Eric M Walker participated, marking the first major engagement with the Interim Government. Dr. Yunus highlighted the strong U.S.-Bangladesh partnership and welcomed collaboration to enhance Bangladesh’s business environment and support U.S. supply chain diversification. bibiyana - the largest producing gas field in Bangladesh Chevron Bangladesh’s bibiyana gas field in Nabiganj, Habiganj district, is Bangladesh’s largest producing gas field. It was discovered in 1998 and started its production in 2007. Currently the field has 27 gas producing wells and supplies about 40% of total domestic gas production in Bangladesh. #ChevronBangladesh

Chevron Bangladesh has been a key partner in Asian University of Women’s (AUW) Summer School initiative since its launch in 2019, shaping its success. This year, 85 outstanding female high school students from across Bangladesh participated in an intense four-week curriculum guided by an esteemed group of international and local faculty members from some of the world's top universities. The students delved into mathematics, physics, chemistry, computer coding, and public health. As part of its Social Investment education support program, Chevron Bangladesh has sponsored the summer school campaign which supported to 275 young female students since 2019.

Secretary, Energy and Mineral Resources Division, Mr Md. Nurul Alam, along with other senior officials, visited Chevron Bangladesh’s Bibiyana and Jalalabad Gas Plants. They were welcomed by Eric M Walker, President and Managing Director of Chevron Bangladesh, who led a detailed tour of the facilities. Mr. Alam praised Chevron’s contributions to Bangladesh’s energy sector over the past 30 years and participated in a tree-plantation event. This visit reaffirms the Government’s commitment to strong relationships in the energy sector and marks a significant milestone in the collaboration between the Government of Bangladesh and Chevron Bangladesh.
