Despite progress over the past decade, #Uganda's maternal mortality rate remains high at 189 deaths per 100,000 live births, significantly above the Sustainable Development Goal #SDG target of less than 70. The primary barriers to maternal #healthcare include transportation, quality of care, proximity, and affordability, particularly for rural #women ???? To address these challenges, the Center for Financial Inclusion (CFI) partnered with FSD Africa Uganda to explore how #digital financial services can enhance access to maternal healthcare. The initiative focuses on reducing delays in seeking, reaching, and receiving care by expanding financial access for expectant mothers and healthcare providers. ???? A key digital solution is clinicPesa, a #healthtech platform offering #financialservices to support antenatal health-seeking behaviour and quality maternal healthcare. clinicPesa provides two core financial products: a savings app for #women to save on medical expenses and a credit facility for healthcare providers to improve their service. ?????? These digital financial services aim to improve women's financial stability and access to necessary #healthcare, ultimately reducing maternal mortality rates in Uganda.
