The Center for Development of Security Excellence (CDSE) is a nationally accredited, award-winning directorate within the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) located in Linthicum, MD and Slippery Rock, PA. On behalf of the DCSA director, CDSE executes the functional manager responsibility (DODI 3305.13) that ensures security training, education, and certification standards are consistently met in the deployment of products and services for the Department of Defense (DOD). In doing so, CDSE provides security education, training, and certification products and services to a broad audience supporting the protection of National Security and professionalization of the DOD security enterprise.

#DYK Shannon Stafford was sentenced to 12 months and 1 day in federal prison for illegally accessing and damaging a computer network? Stafford worked in the IT department of a global company where he had access to the system login credentials of other employees. In August 2015, Stafford made multiple attempts to remotely access company networks using credentials that were not his. He was able to erase all file storage drives used by the Washington, D.C., office, then changed the credentials for the storage management system.
