"The one thing that I really appreciated from the program is that even though you (come into it with) certain questions in mind ... you get a lot of feedback and you actually realise there's three (other) questions that are way more important," Dr den Haan said. There was a huge buzz as CDL-Melbourne held its second intensive full-day session this week, with early-stage deep tech venture founders assessing progress and setting new short-term objectives with our experienced CDL Mentors. What is CDL-Melbourne? Based at Monash Business School, it's the world's first Asia-Pacific Creative Destruction Lab site. We're bringing together the best early stage ventures tackling issues around climate change, AI and health tech. During events like this week's session, founders are gaining invaluable advice from mentors who have "been there, done that". The end goal? As Monash Business School Dean and CDL-Melbourne Chief Economist Simon Wilkie explains: "You can get a company started, but then when you want to become big, people feel the need to leave Australia.
