One of the more surprising contributors to climate change is food waste. The U.S. EPA estimates that each year, U.S. food loss and waste equates to roughly 170 million metric tons of embodied CO2 emissions—equal to the annual CO2 emissions of 42 coal-fired power plants. At the same time, approximately 49 million people—that's one in six people in the U.S.—still face food insecurity. When Jasmine Crowe-Houston set out to solve the hunger crisis in America, she didn’t realize she was a climate tech entrepreneur—but today, her company, Goodr, has raised $8 million and diverted 30 Million pounds of food from landfills—while serving more than 37 million meals to hungry people. Join us on Tuesday, December 3rd at 12pm ET for "Using Technology to Tackle the Climate Crisis and Hunger."?Jasmine Crowe-Houston, Founder & CEO of?Goodr, will be in conversation with?Erin L. Worsham, Executive Director of the Center for the Advancement of Social Entrepreneurship (CASE at Duke) at Duke University - The Fuqua School of Business.? Come hear the conversation about Jasmine's?entrepreneurship journey and the lessons she’s learned along the way about what it takes to be a successful changemaker. https://lnkd.in/eVrbn2TU

? What questions would you ask? ? I am excited to host Beth Bafford, CEO of Climate United, and Tucker Bartlett, EVP at Self-Help Credit Union tonight to talk with a group of our CASE at Duke #MBA students about #climateequity, #cleanenergy, and ensuring a just climate transition. The Climate United coalition is working to deploy historic investments and remove financial barriers to clean technologies (solar and energy storage, electric vehicles, green homes and buildings, and more) so that every American — no matter where they live or their circumstance — benefits from good-paying green jobs, lower energy bills, and better public health. This is an incredibly important - and complex - topic! So, I'm curious to know ... what questions would you ask?
