#HRManagement #CareerAdvice #LeadershipJourney Hello everyone in Human Resources, I find myself at a crossroads, and I’d love to tap into your collective wisdom. #OfficePolitics #WorkLifeBalance #CareerAdvice Hey everyone! ?? So, here’s the scoop: Today, my boss called me into his office to chat about my daily work hours. Apparently, I’ve been taking a 45-minute lunch break when I’m “supposed” to only take 30 minutes. Now, I work in an engineering office where we can take as long of a lunch as needed, as long as we’re clocking in that full 8 hours a day. Here’s my routine: Arrive at the office around 7:30 AM. Leave at 4:00 PM. Take about 45 minutes for lunch. So, technically, I’m about 15 minutes short each day, but I think I’m managing fine! I get all my work done on time, and sometimes I even find myself twiddling my thumbs with no work left. ?? Now, I suspect an older coworker, who struggles with her tasks, might be behind this discussion. She’s probably feeling frustrated that I can wrap things up early while she's struggling. ?? My boss wants to talk about this tomorrow, and I’m feeling a bit anxious. **Here’s where I need you... Confronted by My Boss About Lunch: How Should I Respond? Answers: https://lnkd.in/gkDUBXnj

While I'm excited for this new chapter, I’m also feeling a bit overwhelmed about my career path. I work in Help Desk support for a major health organization, and after graduating with a degree in multi-media journalism, I took a leap into IT, mainly because I wasn’t thrilled about the job prospects in media after college. Right now, I’m making about $55,000 ($70,000 with benefits), while my wife is the real rockstar of our household, earning around $80,000+ as an engineer. ?? She loves her job and has no plans to be a stay-at-home mom, which I completely support. Though she’s offered me the option to try the stay-at-home dad life, I feel like I can still contribute financially, especially since we have a mortgage that's a bit over $2,000. ??
