Our parent organization, WESTAF, has launched a new identity: Creative West! Join us in celebrating the organization's past and future. Although CaFé will remain the same, we look forward to 50 more years of empowering artists and arts organizations.

We are one month away from the deadline for our open call for entry, 50 Years, 50 Artists: A Celebration of the West! This online exhibition will celebrate the Western States Arts Federation's 50-year anniversary. Artists in the regions are invited to submit artwork that explores the concept of time, memory, or history. 50 artworks will be selected for display in an online exhibition on the CaFé website. We are thrilled to announce our next open call for entry to celebrate our parent organization, the Western States Arts Federation's 50th anniversary! Artists in our region are invited to submit their art for an online exhibition, 50 Years, 50 Artists: A Celebration of the West. In the spirit of WESTAF's 50-year milestone, we seek artwork that explores the concept of time, whether in the past, present, or future. We invite you to interpret this concept however you choose—exploring memory, history, evolution, etc. We want to see your perspective on time reflected in your artwork. 50 pieces of art will be selected for display in an online exhibition on the CaFé website, and each piece will be featured with a dedicated post on our social media pages throughout the year. Our latest edition to Stories of Creative Connection is the d'Art Center! Founded in 1986, the d’Art Center is a vibrant arts hub in the NEON Arts District at the Atlantic Permanent Building in Norfolk, VA. In addition to resident artist studios and multiple activity rooms, the facility features three galleries with rotating exhibitions and updated work from community artists. This week, we are looking back on the early days of CaFé! ?? A couple of years after launching the site in 2005, CaFé partnered with the Public Art Network (PAN) and brainstormed how to combine the best features of CaFé with WESTAF’s ArtistsRegister in order to create a database of projects selected for PAN’s Year in Review. While the partnership did not proceed, this imagined project shifted WESTAF’s focus to creating the beloved Public Art Archive (PAA).
