“Instead of enforcing or abandoning [our less effective] guidelines, I wanted to understand what was happening in people’s day-to-day work, starting with an audit.” Read more from Audrey Ross on the blog: https://lnkd.in/gqqkytMc #ContentSystems #ContentGovernance #UX

A couple of weeks ago I treated myself to a Button workshop to learn about incorporating content in design systems from Michael Haggerty-Villa. It was great! The session was packed with insights and plenty of hands on opportunities to try out what we were learning in real time. I highly recommend checking out one of these pop up content design events they've been offering. It was the quality I've come to expect from Button. My takeaways: - Leaving content out of your design system can lead to inconsistency and inefficiency for the team, or worse yet an incoherent user experience. - Including content principles, voice and tone guidelines, and reusable components (like button text or error messages) ensures that content scales with design. - A thoughtfully curated content design system will empower your team to create clear, accessible, and user-friendly experiences from the start. - Content should never be an afterthought. I knew that one??, but felt good to say it anyway ??. #UX #UXWriting #ContentDesign #DesignSystem #UXResearch #UXTips

I did it! I submitted my pitch ideas for Button's 2025 conference. I got over my mental hurdle of filming the pitch video and now I just have to wait and see. I super appreciate Shannon Leahy's session this morning which gave me just enough momentum to get it done. Wishing lots of luck to everyone who submits this year, and excited to see the tenor of topics chosen!

She’ll teach you how to do it from start to finish, including five proven testing methods you can put straight to work. You’ll find out how to put together a research plan that outlines methodology, target audience, and success metrics. Considering pitching a talk for #Button2025? (You should!) Jump on this opportunity to swap ideas with Shannon Leahy and other content design friends. ??
Update: March 14, 12 pm et. Let's hang out! https://lnkd.in/ecSeeTvc **************************************************************************** Anyone wanna hang out with me on a zoom call next week and talk about pitching conference talks? Thinking very casual, sorta AMA-esque? With Button and some other calls for proposals open right now, I thought it might be helpful to have a space to ask questions, brainstorm ideas, and hype each other up. #ContentDesign #UXWriting #ContentStrategy #UX
