Progress has been made! After collaborative work amongst member states, international organizations and social partners throughout this year’s #G7 process, the G7 Labor and Employment Ministerial Declaration was adopted today in Cagliari, Italy. This years’ declaration includes two action plans: 1) G7 Action Plan: for a human-centered development and use of safe, secure and trustworthy AI in the World of Work. 2) G7 Policy Principles and Action Plan: for a resilient world of work in ageing societies and for improving working conditions in the care sector. The U.S. Department of Labor looks forward to doing its part in supporting these two timely action plans. https://lnkd.in/efG4-CkJ

Following the Partnership for Workers’ Rights call for joint action to combat the impacts of heat stress on the job, and the International Labour Organization’s launch of their report “Heat at Work: Implications for Safety and Health,” Deputy Undersecretary Thea Lee met with the ILO Director-General Gilbert Houngbo to reaffirm our commitment to addressing heat stress and workers’ safety, including workers’ physical and mental well-being, and migrant and platform workers’ risks due to limited access to resources and protections. Together with the ILO, we will work with our #G7 partners and the international community to make workplaces safe for all workers. https://lnkd.in/gzTb34F5 #Partners4WorkerRights
