On Veterans Day, OW Ocean Winds NORTH AMERICA and our team honor all of the U.S. military veterans who have served our country. We recognize their courage and commitment, and we are deeply grateful for their service. We also recognize that veterans play a critical role in the domestic clean energy economy, which will help protect our national security and create economic growth across the country. According to the American Clean Power Association (ACP), more than 42,000 veterans work in the U.S. wind and solar industries, and the clean energy sector employs veterans at a higher rate than the national average. We are so proud to have many veterans on our OW NA team and thankful for the experience and dedication they bring each day as we work towards building a clean energy future for all. ?#ProudtobeOW #VeteransDay #CleanEnergy #OffshoreWind

Our External Affairs team recently stopped by SouthWardEA SWEA in Newark, New Jersey to attend the recognition ceremony for the first cohort of their Green Alliance Leadership Academy (GALA). ?? SWEA, a leading environmental justice organization in Northern NJ, launched the Passport to Green Jobs and Careers workforce development program this past September with plans to conduct a total of 4 cohorts until early 2026. The GALA fellows?will learn about environmental leadership, air and water quality, #greenjobs, civic engagement around sustainability, and so much more. Bluepoint Wind was honored to be invited to teach the #offshorewind portion of the training. ? Our team delivered a presentation on offshore wind construction and operations, and also drew the connection between #cleanenergy and environmental justice.?We also looked at the types of #careers and training needed to join our industry. Bluepoint Wind is proud to invest our time and resources to support the tremendously impactful work of community-based organizations like SWEA. ?? We look forward to working with additional organizations in the region to build an inclusive and diverse offshore wind workforce. Another American Clean Power Association (ACP)?Offshore WINDPOWER?has blown by????and what a time it was! Today is #NationalMarineSanctuaryDay! A day to highlight America's system of underwater parks. Read below to learn more about underwater monuments and how our project is working with a proposed future marine sanctuary.???
Happy #NationalMarineSanctuaryDay! ?? For over 50 years, the U.S. National Marine Sanctuary System – made up of 16 national marine sanctuaries and 2 marine national monuments – has safeguarded species and critical habitats, supported scientific research, and protected our nation’s marine cultural heritage. ? ?? The Chumash Heritage National Marine Sanctuary is particularly meaningful for our Golden State Wind project in Central California. This marine sanctuary thoughtfully balances marine conservation, protection of cultural resources, and #cleanenergy to address the impacts of climate change. We respectfully acknowledge the efforts of Tribes, Indigenous Peoples, and federal, state, and local officials to advance the Chumash Heritage National Marine Sanctuary.? ? ?? Our Bluepoint Wind project is located northwest of the Hudson Canyon, which is the largest submarine canyon along the Atlantic coast and has been proposed as a future National Marine Sanctuary. Bluepoint Wind has joined the Hudson Canyon Sanctuary Advisory Council, and the scientific studies and monitoring conducted within the project lease area will contribute to better understanding the region’s complex ecosystem.? ? At OW Ocean Winds NORTH AMERICA, we recognize the environmental and cultural significance of the current and proposed marine sanctuaries and we look forward to continuing to work together to combat #climatechange and preserve our natural resources. ?? ? ?? Learn more about how you can support marine sanctuaries at https://lnkd.in/ggYzdbpb

This time last week our Bluepoint Wind team travelled down the Jersey coast to Atlantic City for the 7th annual Time for Turbines. Bluepoint Wind is pleased to have been a sponsor of this year’s conference and prior years’. Our project’s CEO, John Dempsey, also joined a panel of fellow offshore wind NY Bight lessees to discuss the future of wind energy in the #GardenState. It was great to hear from such a diversity of stakeholders from state leaders, including NJ first lady Tammy Murphy, to organized labor, environmental justice leaders, and local suppliers, on their hopes for the future development of the industry. It’s an exciting time to be a part of offshore wind as we lay the groundwork for New Jersey’s clean energy future. Thank you to #JerseyRenews for another stellar conference!
