She is dedicated to making sure our members are getting the care they need by collaborating closely with providers on complex transplant cases. In addition, Carrie seeks out solutions to improve internal communications and processes. For more than a dozen years, we have held an annual Tribal Roundtable in September, inviting representatives of the Indian Health Service and tribal and urban clinics to discuss health care issues affecting Oklahoma’s Native Americans. The roundtable has grown to include more than 100 participants from 15 federally recognized tribes. In the competitive world of high school athletics, Heart of a Champion stands out by recognizing not just athletic ability, but the remarkable character that defines a true champion! This year’s Heart of a Champion is Kalley Hogue. Hogue, a senior at Oologah High School, plays soccer, basketball, track and softball. She was nominated and chosen for exemplifying the spirit of competition through her unwavering work ethic, selflessness, and kindness. At the 21st annual Champions of Health gala, Hogue got to meet and do a jersey swap with Jalen Williams, guard-forward for the Oklahoma City Thunder! Five organizations were honored at the 21st Annual Champions of Health Gala, which featured Jalen Williams from the Oklahoma City Thunder! The gala benefits the Oklahoma Caring Foundation and recognizes people and organizations working to improve health outcomes throughout the state. The 2024 Champions of Health recipients are: Champion of Children’s Health: Global Gardens Champion of Senior Health: RSVP (Retired and Senior Volunteer Program) of Central Oklahoma Champion of the Uninsured: Community Treatment Integrations OK Champion of Community Health: Be Well Community Development Corporation The highest honor, the Rodney L. Huey Memorial Champion of Oklahoma Health Award, and a $20,000 grant was given to Emergency Infant Services. This grant will go towards their mobile unit program, Baby Blue. Baby Blue strives to remove access barriers to basic needs such as diapers, formula and essential baby items. What an honor to link arms with incredible organizations who are diligently working to make a healthier Oklahoma!

Our team was proud to play a part in Tulsa Area United Way 33rd annual Day of Caring! We teamed up with Meals on Wheels of Metro Tulsa, A New Leaf, Inc., CAP Tulsa, Iron Gate Tulsa and Tulsa Day Center.
